Ziad Samir Jarrah was a Lebanese engineering student and terrorist hijacker for al-Qaeda. He was one of four hijackers who hijacked United Airlines Flight 93 as part of the September 11 attacks. The flight, which was traveling from Newark, New Jersey, to San Francisco, crashed near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, after passengers and crew attempted to regain control of the aircraft, preventing the hijackers from reaching their intended target.
