What this article is

The kirpan is a specific type of curved blade that Khalsa Sikhs are required to wear as part of their religious uniform, as prescribed by the Sikh Code of Conduct. Traditionally, the kirpan must be a Taksaali style Kirpan and in the modern day, the kirpan is typically between 4-6 inches in total length. According to the Sikh Code of Conduct, "The length of the sword to be worn is not prescribed", but must be curved and single edged, worn in a gatra over the right shoulder and across the body. It is part of a religious commandment given by Guru Gobind Singh in 1699, founding the Khalsa order and introducing the five articles of faith which must be worn at all times.

What changed that day

The article lost 366 characters on balance that day. The largest single addition was 527 characters to United Kingdom. How this was measured

Views are Wikimedia's own pageview counts for en.wikipedia, filtered to agent=user so automated traffic is excluded. The baseline is the median of the previous 60 days, which is used instead of the mean so that an earlier surge cannot flatten a later one. The multiple is the day's views divided by that median.
