What this article is

The 2026 Asian Games , officially the XX Asian Games (第二十回アジア競技大会) and also known as Aichi–Nagoya 2026 (愛知・名古屋2026), is an ongoing multi-sport event being held in Aichi Prefecture in Japan from 19 September to 4 October 2026 though several competitions started from 10 September. Nagoya, capital city of Aichi Prefecture, is the third Japanese city to host the Asian Games, after Tokyo in 1958 and Hiroshima in 1994. Though Aichi Prefecture is the primary host, the competitions are taking place in three other prefectures and Tokyo Metropolis as well. The event has returned to its traditional four-year cycle, after the 2022 edition was postponed to 2023 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Games marked the 75th anniversary of the 1951 Asian Games held in New Delhi, India.

How this was measured

Views are Wikimedia's own pageview counts for en.wikipedia, filtered to agent=user so automated traffic is excluded. The baseline is the median of the previous 60 days, which is used instead of the mean so that an earlier surge cannot flatten a later one. The multiple is the day's views divided by that median.
